Dacheng Senior Partner Tong Jie Wins Zhang Yimou Defamation Case

On 8 December 2009, Dacheng senior partner Tong Jie successfully acted for renowned director Zhang Yimou in his suit for defamation against author of Impressions of China: The Life of Zhang Yimou, Huang Xiaoyang, and Huaxia Publishing for infringing his name and image rights and injuring his reputation. The Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People’s Court ordered the two accused parties to publish an apology and provide Zhang Yimou with 450,000 Yuan compensation for the economic and emotional injury suffered. Tong Jie has accepted interviews from various press and media including CCTV, BTV, Beijing Evening News, Legal Mirror, and Sina Entertainment News.
