Dacheng Attorneys Advise CGWIC on Satellite Delivery Project

Posting Date: 2012.12.03

A Dacheng project team recently advised China Great Wall Industry Corporation (“CGWIC”) on the latter’s satellite delivery for the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DR Congo”).

During the China Airshow held in Zhuhai this month, a formal contract was signed between CGWIC and National Network of Satellite Telecommunications of DR Congo, in which an in-orbit delivery of “Congo Sat-1” was agreed upon. DR Congo is the second African country to ink a satellite delivery contract with China.

Congo Sat-1 will be equipped with China-made new-generation satellite platform “DFH-4 bus”, which will enable the satellite to cover the entire Southern-Central Africa. According to the contract, the satellite will be launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan carried by Long March 3B (“CZ-3B”), a Chinese orbital carrier rocket, by the end of 2015.

Dacheng senior partner Shi Wanlin and partner Chen Xuming, assisted by paralegals Li Yifan, Zhu Weina and Adeline, provided all-round legal service for contract negotiations in English and French.
