Peng Xuefeng Attends and Delivers Keynote Speech at CPPCC Bi-weekly Symposium

On May 6 2014, Peng Xuefeng, member of the CPPCC Standing Committee and chairman of Dacheng, attended the 10th bi-weekly symposium of the 12th CPPCC upon invitation and delivered a keynote speech.

Yu Zhengsheng, standing committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and president of CPPCC, Du Qinglin, head of the Secretariat of CPC Central Committee and vice-president of CPPCC, and CPPCC vice-presidents Zhang Qingli, Lu Zhangong and Qi Xuchun were also present at the symposium.

Mr. Peng’s speech focused on the reform of unifying resource management in provinces’ judicial system. He pointed out the reform should be deemed transitional; to push forward the reform, conflict of the laws should be avoided and breakthroughs in the existing legal framework should be attempted; finally, he proposed measures on the prevention of government intervention and centralization of power at the provincial-level judicial system. His speech drew close attention and recognition from the participating leaders.
