On May 13 2014, Xinjiang-based senior partner Yang Shuwei and Beijing-based partner Zhang Jingwei accepted the mandate from Xinjiang International Expo Administration to act as the latter’s standing legal counsel. The two would provide comprehensive legal counsel on matters in relation to the administration’s day-to-day management, activities and events, compliance and risk control.
Xinjiang International Expo Administration, which is subordinate to the government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is a permanent services agency for China-Eurasia Expo. It is thus commonly referred to as secretariat of China-Eurasia Expo.
China-Eurasia Expo is an extension and development of the former Urumqi Foreign Economic and Trade Fair. It is a platform for Xinjiang to attract investment, boost regional economic growth and facilitate long-term economic exchange and cooperation with East China, Central, West and South Asia as well as European countries. The expo also serves as a gateway for China to open itself up to countries to the west of Xinjiang.
Dacheng has acted as standing legal counsel for Xinjiang International Expo Administration for four consecutive years, with a particular focus on the hosting of three China-Eurasia Expos.
Attorneys Yang Shuwen and Zhang Jingwei would be assisted by associates Yu Xiaoyan, XuXuemei, Li Jin and Shi Yuqing. The engagement is thought to be beneficial for the expansion of Dacheng’s range of services as well as specialization.
