Peng Xuefeng Leads Inspection Tour in Shandong to Look into local Judicial Reform

On May 20-26, 2014, a delegation of personages without party affiliation was organized by the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee to conduct an inspection in Shandong province over local judicial reform. Peng Xuefeng, member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC and chairman of Dacheng, was appointed deputy head of the delegation.

The group of people went to cities such as Jinan, Weifang and Qingdao to learn about experience, innovative measures and difficulties in pushing forward judicial reform and offered suggestions for local officials on how to implement guidelines laid down by central authorities in this endeavor. The focus of the reform is to ensure the independence, justice and conformity with law in the exercise of judicial and prosecutorial power.
