Shanghai-based Attorney Retained as Standing Legal Counsel for Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce

Shanghai-based partner Zhang Qiyuan was recently retained as standing legal counsel of Shanghai Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce.

He was invited shortly afterwards to join an ad hoc working team to deal with a group dispute over property leasing, membership card use and delayed payment of wages for employees surrounding a large-size outdoor bathing place. The team was led by the Commission of Commerce and was joined by people from Pudong New Area’s publicity agency, market supervision agency and public security bureau.

Pudong New Area Commission of Commerce is responsible for attracting investment, conducting international economic cooperation and trade, holding exhibitions, supporting the development of tourism, food and services industries and enterprise social responsibility endeavors. It is also responsible for assisting relevant authorities in formulating laws, regulations, policies and measures and implementing them accordingly. Besides, the Commission is entitled to approving investment project within Pudong and supports the development of Shanghai Free Trade Zone.
