Ma Wei and Yu Kun from Dentons Kunming office were appointed as the legal advisors for Department of Personnel of Yunnan Province after a competitive selection and review process with the contract spanning 5 years. On 28 August 2017, the deputy director of the Department Shang Min awarded the engagement letter to them.
The Department is an important advisory component of the provincial government, tasked with drafting and implementing local/government regulations and policies of province-wide systematic, and institutional reforms; managing role set-up for party committee, People’s Congress, government, CPPCC, court, procuratorate, democratic parties, associations and public institutions; as well as studying economic and social mechanism in major decision-making process for the provincial government and party committee.
Shang Min expressed his support of having professional advice to guide the Department legally and his high expectation of Dentons’ role in delivering quality legal service.
