Dentons China co-sponsors Legal Seminar on Civil Code Contract Book in Beijing

On June 2 and 3, 2018, the Legal Seminar on Civil Code Contract Book was successfully held at the Beijing Branch of the National Judges College. The seminar was sponsored by the Civil Law Research Committee of the China Law Society and the Real Estate Law Research Committee of the Beijing Law Society, organized by the Real Estate Law Research Center of Tsinghua University School of Law and the Real Estate Law Research Center of Central University of Finance and Economics, and co-sponsored by Dentons China. More than 50 participants attended the seminar, including experts from the Legal Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the Civil Code Compilation team of the Supreme People's Court, scholars from Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China University of Political Science and Law, Wuhan University, Zhejiang University and other domestic institutions, and lawyers from Dentons China.

For many years, Dentons Beijing has been committed to make investment in stepping up its level of specialization, and actively engaged in various legislation initiatives. As a result, our market positioning has improved significantly. In 2015, Dentons Beijing teamed up with law schools of Tsinghua University and Central University of Finance and Economics, and set up the Property Law Research Committee of Beijing Law Society, which paved the way for Dentons Beijing’s involvement in the compilation of the Civil Code. Dentons Beijing will continue to strengthen its specialization and play its part in building rule of law.
