A delegation of 20 from the China Desk of Dentons Europe visited our Beijing office on June 7, who shared their insight on the latest regulation development of M&A in Europe with our partners.
Two rounds of discussions were held as part of the visit, with the first round moderated by Raymond Zhu, the deputy head of Beijing office’s management committee. Leaders of the practice groups and lawyers from the Beijing office joined our colleagues from Europe Region for a discussion on business opportunities in EU member states, the status quo and future development of Chinese M&A in Europe as well as what practical advice should we give to our clients. Our practice leaders raised questions about EU’s FDI screening rules and public policies and used their own experience to demonstrate how the two regions may improve collaboration.
The second discussion, led by of counsel Frank Niu, focused on the impact of EU’s FDI screening on Chinese investment, and how the new tax regime in the EU will affect the transaction structure. Colleagues from the Europe Region listened carefully to the suggestions and requests that our China Region attendees proposed on how to better cross-region collaboration and avoid pricing and bureaucratic challenges.
The Beijing office and the China Desk of the Europe Region are committed to build a better communication mechanism to facilitate cross-region collaboration.
