On September 10, Teachers' day, the sky was clear in Lanzhou.
On such a sunny day, Dentons unveiled its 44th branch office in Chinese mainland – the Lanzhou office. As such, Dentons' legal service has expanded presence in all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in mainland China.
Officers from the lawyers associations of Gansu Province and Lanzhou city, along with members of the Dentons China region leadership and representatives of Dentons' branch offices in China, attended the opening ceremony and witnessed this historical moment. Li Xinmin, Executive Managing Partner of Dentons Lanzhou office, hosted the ceremony.
Li Zhangfa, Managing Partner of Dentons Lanzhou office, noted in his opening speech that the office's establishment marked the completion of the firm's effort of achieving overall presence in China. The Lanzhou office will leverage the advantages of the global legal service network to make more contributions to the development of Northwest China and the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative. Gansu has a small number of lawyers, and law firms here generally adopt an extensive management style. Besides, there is still a gap in brand development between law firms in Gansu and in other provinces. Under such circumstances, the Lanzhou office will strive for changes and introduce Dentons' decades of managerial experiences, in combination with local sector's characteristics, practice and innovation, so as to build its team and bring in development models and management concepts to the local industry.
Wang Jun, director of the Dentons China region Board and the Dentons Beijing head office board, and chair of the Dentons Beijing Management Committee, sent a blessing to the Lanzhou office on behalf of Dentons. He pointed out that the Lanzhou office's setup represented a milestone in Dentons' history – after more than ten year's efforts, we finally had presence in all parts of China. Thanks to a group of predecessors and colleagues' great efforts and contributions, we have made this major achievement. Mr. Wang further stated that in setting up this new office in Lanzhou, Dentons aimed to contribute to the local legal service market. We will share experiences and exchange innovative ideas with counterparts in Lanzhou and Gansu Province, and actively adopt expertise and operation models of Dentons' global offices, in order to better serve the legal needs of the local businesses.
Zhao Yao, Vice President of the Gansu Lawyers Association, congratulated Dentons on behalf of the association and stated that Dentons Lanzhou office would have a great impact on the development model, development pattern, business vision, form and concept of the local industry. He looks forward to the future growth and breakthrough of the office.
Chen Yuping and Wang Yinong, President and Vice President of the Lanzhou Municipal Lawyers Association, also delivered a similar message and expectations for Dentons Lanzhou office. In addition, they hoped to promote and strengthen the management and practice exchanges within this industry, and drive the development of the local legal industry, with the help of Dentons Lanzhou office.
At the inauguration ceremony, under the witness of all the staff of Dentons Lanzhou office and the guests present, Vice President Zhao Yao and Director Wang Jun unveiled the office, on behalf of Gansu Lawyers Association and Dentons respectively. Henceforth, a new chapter of Dentons Lanzhou office has started, and the office will be dedicated to making itself an excellent law firm in this region.
In the closing speech, Pei Yanjun, Chair of Dentons Lanzhou Supervisory Committee, once again expressed gratitude to the guests for their support.
