Dentons China Intellectual Property Professional Committee "Intellectual Property Law Business Seminar" and the All Members Meeting Successfully Held

On July 29, 2019, Dentons China Intellectual Property Professional Committee "Intellectual Property Law Seminar" and All Members Meeting were successfully held in Zhoushan, Zhejiang Province. More than 60 lawyers and invited experts from Dentons Beijing head office and 20 branch offices attended the meeting.

The meeting invited Mr. Wang Jun, head of Dentons China Advisory Committee, deputy head of the Board, and senior partner of Dentons China Beijing head office, and Mr. He Jianwen, head of Dentons Zhejiang District and Dentons Hangzhou office to deliver the opening address.

Mr. Wang Jun said that as a key element of Dentons China’s path from large to leading, professionalization is conducive to improving Dentons China’s legal service quality. In this regard, Mr. Wang suggested everyone to carefully study the “Fourth Five-year” plan and understand the specific requirements, development goals and implementation measures of Dentons China’s practice professionalization and firm integration from the “Fourth Five-year” plan. Professional role allocation is only the basis of professionalization while the real professionalization requires joint efforts and persistence of all colleagues. At the same time, Mr. Wang put forward related suggestions for the professionalization construction, which are, professionalization should be “down-to-earth”, be conducted in close relation to the industry in order to learn advanced concepts and experience, and play an important role in improving Dentons China’s legal service quality.

Mr. He Jianwen said that he was very grateful to those lawyers who came from all over the country, which allowed everyone the opportunity to discuss how to make our legal services better and gain the trust of the market. Mr. He hoped that in the future, our committee members would be able to share their excellent transactions and cases with Dentons China's colleagues through such an exchange platform, and further promote Dentons China’s professionalization construction. He also hoped this conference a complete success.

The meeting was divided into morning and afternoon sessions, chaired by Liu Feng, senior partner of Dentons Shanghai office, and Huang Miao, senior partner of Dentons Ningbo office respectively.

In the morning sessions, Mr. Wang Weidong, head of Dentons China Intellectual Property Professional Committee and senior partner of Dentons Beijing head office, Li Shaoqian, general member of the 5G major project of the National “863 Program”, professor of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Ph.D. supervisor, and Mr. Huang Miao, senior partner of Dentons Ningbo office, head of Intellectual Property Professional Committee of Zhejiang Lawyers Association, who are senior lawyers and experts in the intellectual property field, made wonderful sharing.

In the afternoon sessions, Mr. Liu Feng, head of Dentons Shanghai office and Intellectual Property Business Research Committee of Shanghai Lawyers Association, Zhang Yaqing, senior partner of Dentons Wuhan office, Deng Zhisong, senior partner of Dentons Beijing head office and Dentons China Competition and Antitrust practice leader, Yang Yuzhou, partner of Dentons Shanghai office, Shan Wenfeng, senior partner of Dentons Nanjing office, and Wang Xianhui, partner of Dentons Shijiazhuang office, totally six senior lawyers in the intellectual property field, were invited to make wonderful sharing.

At the meeting, Mr. Wang Weidong, head of Dentons China Intellectual Property Professional Committee, presented a closing speech. Mr. Wang first thanked the lawyers coming from all over the country for their active participation and speakers’ wonderful sharing. He said that this meeting was very timely when everyone used intellectual property professional committee as a platform to share and exchange, inspiring sparks of thoughts, from which the participants benefited a lot. Also, Mr. Wang hoped that members would continue to put forward their own ideas and suggestions for the construction of Dentons China Intellectual Property Professional Committee.
