Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East signs the Race Fairness Commitment to combat career obstacles faced by Black, Asian and minority ethnic lawyers

Posting Date: 2020.07.14

London—Dentons UK, Ireland and Middle East has signed the Race Fairness Commitment (RFC) launched by Rare Recruitment, the diversity recruitment specialist, with 16 other leading law firms.

The aim of the RFC is to combat career obstacles faced by Black, Asian and other minority ethnic lawyers through close analysis of quantitative data and monitoring, and tough, data-driven measures. Some of these measures include monitoring application-to-interview and interview-to-offer rates, pay and promotion rates, outreach programmes, and sentiment analyses around 'I can be myself at work', to name a few.

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons' CEO for the UK, Ireland and the Middle East, said, "We are proud to be signatories to the RFC. Inclusion and diversity are core to our business strategy at Dentons, and we know there can be no true inclusivity where we have racial inequality. These measures will allow us to build and expand on our existing programmes as we work to tackle racial inequality to ensure we are the most inclusive firm we can be."

At Dentons, we believe that inclusion and diversity are essential to the success and strength of our Firm and the quality of our advice to, and representation of, our clients. We are committed to providing a flexible environment where everyone respects, supports and learns from our collective skills, talents and differences. By attracting, supporting, promoting and retaining individuals from all backgrounds, inclusive of race, ethnicity, faith, religion or spiritual beliefs, gender, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, abilities, social perspective and other characteristics, we create a dynamic and inclusive work environment that is critical to our success.
