Ms. Lihua Zhu’s practice focuses on commercial dispute resolution and mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience in handling complex disputes involving real estate and construction, finance, corporate governance, bulk commodities trading, and other commercial matters.
With years of experience in domestic and cross-border M&A, fund investment, and commercial litigation and arbitration, Ms. Zhu has developed strong analytical capabilities and a broad, cross-disciplinary perspective in resolving complex and challenging commercial disputes. By combining litigation and arbitration strategies with in-depth commercial expertise, she has helped clients recover or avoid losses amounting to billions. Her practice covers a wide range of industries, including construction and engineering, finance, private equity, and high technology.
Ms. Zhu obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Juris Master degree from Renmin University of China. During her postgraduate studies, she was supervised by Professor Jia Linqing, a renowned legal scholar, and ranked among the top three students in her class.
Ms. Zhu has been invited to deliver practical training sessions and expert opinions for organizations and institutions including the China-Japan Investment Promotion Committee and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, receiving highly positive feedback.
Ms. Zhu is currently based in Munich, Germany, where she provides China-law-related legal services to clients across Europe.
Provided legal advisory services to a state-owned investment fund enterprise in Shanghai and represented it in related financial disputes.
Represented Beijing Zhuzong Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. in a land cooperation contract dispute.
Represented Chinese companies in anti-circumvention investigations concerning exports of variable-speed transmission belts to the United States, achieving the lowest tax rate.
Served as legal counsel to the investor of the Beijing Dongba Wanda Plaza project.
Represented Dongfang Yuanlin Zhenxia Zhongbang Construction Company in a construction contract dispute concerning a PPP project.
Represented SOHO China’s subsidiary, Triumphant Property, in proceedings for confirmation of termination of a property pre-sale contract and enforcement objection proceedings, successfully lifting all prior preservation measures and recovering economic losses for the client.
Advised Gezhouba Luyuan Technology Co., Ltd. on the introduction of a German fine rubber powder production line involving low-temperature processing of waste tires.
Represented China Merchants Group in a compliance review and verification project covering its overseas assets across 39 countries.
Assisted CCPIT in responding to the U.S. Section 301 investigation in connection with the U.S.-China trade dispute.
Advised Chengdu Yunda Technology Co., Ltd. on its proposed acquisition of a high-tech company in the Netherlands, including term sheet negotiation and drafting.
Advised VAMA Gonvarri Advanced Automotive Steel Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of GONVARRI CORPORACIÓN FINANCIERA, S.L., on compliance supervision and amendments to its articles of association.
Served as China legal counsel to CIDESCO GmbH, a Swiss company, advising on its business development in China, negotiations with Chinese partners, and the establishment of a joint venture.
