Ms. Zhang is a Partner at Beijing Dacheng Law Offices and Deputy Secretary-General of the firm's Belt and Road Research Center. With more than a decade of practice experience, she focuses on cross-border investment and financing, mergers and acquisitions, and complex commercial dispute resolution. Ms. Zhang has extensive experience advising both Chinese enterprises on their outbound investments and Fortune Global 500 companies on their inbound projects in China. She regularly leads high-value, multi-jurisdictional transactions and disputes across a range of industries. Her work spans the full business cycle, from structuring and execution of investments and acquisitions to post-merger integration, compliance and governance, restructuring, and dispute resolution. Drawing on her dual expertise in transactional and contentious matters, Ms. Zhang provides clients with forward-looking, integrated legal solutions that anticipate risk and align with long-term strategic goals.
Ms. Zhang has led and participated in more than one hundred projects spanning North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and key offshore jurisdictions such as the Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. Her experience covers a wide range of sectors, including finance, manufacturing, infrastructure, culture and tourism, consumer goods, technology, media and telecommunications (TMT), and energy and natural resources. She is deeply familiar with the cultural and systemic differences across legal jurisdictions and the diverse approaches to dispute resolution. With a strong command of international commercial practices, Ms. Zhang excels at coordinating multi-jurisdictional teams and crafting integrated legal strategies that balance local legal requirements with the commercial realities of global transactions and disputes.
Ms. Zhang has provided comprehensive legal services to a diverse range of clients, including government agencies, large state-owned enterprises, private companies, financial institutions, domestic and offshore investment funds, listed companies, and multinational corporations. Her deep understanding of the differing perspectives and negotiation dynamics among various stakeholders enables her to navigate complex, multi-party settings with efficiency and precision, advancing transactions to successful completion or facilitating the effective resolution of disputes.
Ms. Zhang also serves as an expert mediator for foreign-related cases at the People’s Court of Chaoyang District, Beijing, a mediator with the Beijing Mediation Development Promotion Association, and an arbitrator with Tangshan Arbitration Commission / Tangshan International Arbitration Court (TSAC). In recognition of her expertise in cross-border matters, she has been selected into the Beijing Lawyers Association’s Talent Pool for Foreign-Related Legal Practice (Cross-Border Investment, Civil and Commercial Litigation, and Arbitration). She was also recognized as a LegalOne Stellar Accolade 2025 | M&A, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in outbound investment and cross-border M&A.
Ms. Zhang holds dual academic backgrounds in both civil law (China and the European Union) and common law (the United States). She studied at Columbia University in the United States, Sciences Po Strasbourg in France, Beijing Normal University, and China Foreign Affairs University (the only university directly administered by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs). She is fluent in Chinese, English, and French.
